## Summary

United Utilities Water Limited is soliciting bids for "Long Term Power Purchase Agreements" as part of its commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This procurement process is active and organised into three parts, seeking services within the energy and related services industry category focusing on low-carbon and renewable energy solutions. The tender is held in Warrington, UK, with plans to integrate these solutions across multiple operational sites in the North West of England. The tender, utilizing an open procurement method, was initiated on 6th February 2026, with the tender period closing on 6th March 2026. Businesses interested in this procurement must address parts related to existing and site-based renewable energy projects, with detailed options for roof-mounted solar PV installations.

This tender offers significant opportunities for companies specialising in renewable energy, particularly those with expertise in low-carbon and renewable energy generation and infrastructure. Businesses, including SMEs with capabilities in solar and wind electricity generation, electricity distribution, and related energy services, would be well-suited to participate. With the dynamic market procurement method and potential for developing direct-wire Power Purchase Agreements, this is a valuable platform for companies aiming to expand their footprint within the rapidly evolving green energy market. Interested suppliers are invited to contribute innovative energy solutions and benefit from long-term engagements with United Utilities, aiding the push towards sustainability and reduced carbon emissions in the region.

## Notice

United Utilities is committed to building a greener energy portfolio that reduces operational carbon emissions and supports our ambition to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. As one of the largest water and wastewater service providers in the UK, we operate more than 100 water treatment works and 575 wastewater treatment works across the North West of England. These sites have significant energy demands and require robust power resilience to maintain essential services for our customers. Our operational footprint across the region presents substantial opportunities to integrate low-carbon and renewable energy solutions. Many of our sites have available land or roof space suitable for on-site generation. In addition, we are seeking opportunities for work with existing or upcoming renewable generation assets close to our operational sites to develop private-wire Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Together, these opportunities support our drive to reduce operational emissions and contribute to a greener, stronger, and healthier North West. To advance this ambition, we are seeking long-term Power Purchase Agreements through a procurement process structured into three parts: Part 1: Existing Generation: Low-carbon or renewable generation assets that are currently available--or expected to become available--for private-wire connection within the North West of England. Part 2: Site-Based Development: Low-carbon or renewable generation projects that can be developed on United Utilities-owned land within the region. Part 3: Site-Based Development (Roof-Mounted): Solar PV installations that can be developed on suitable roof areas across United Utilities' property portfolio in the North West. Suppliers may bid for all three parts or select any individual part that aligns with their expertise, capabilities, and experience.
