## Summary

Dalston Parish Council, located in Dalston, Carlisle, is seeking tenders for the complete re-roofing of a Grade II listed building. The procurement process is in the award stage, with Brian Hetherington Limited being awarded the contract valued at £41,763 on 10th March 2026. The work is planned to commence on 8th June 2026 and complete by 31st July 2026. The project falls under the roof industry category and involves restoring the building using Westmorland and sandstone elements. The procurement method is an open competition, with a focus on sub-central government responsibilities and compliance with health and safety regulations.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the roofing and heritage conservation industries. Companies with experience in handling historical properties and providing skilled craftsmanship in slate roofing and timber treatment are highly suitable. SMEs looking to expand their portfolio in historical renovations would benefit from this opportunity, especially given the reserved participation for small and medium-sized enterprises. With Dalston Parish Council's commitment to using secondhand and quality materials, businesses equipped with sustainable practices and sourcing capabilities are encouraged to engage.
