## Summary

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is in the planning stage of a procurement process for a Patient Transport Services (PTS) framework. The aim is to establish an agreement with suppliers capable of providing patient transport for various medical needs, such as hospital discharges and appointments, across several regions including North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire. The process, initiated on 9th February 2026, involves a market engagement phase scheduled for 31st March 2026 where interested suppliers can attend virtual information sessions. The procurement will proceed as a tender with a framework agreement strategy, expecting to start by 1st October 2026, and scheduled to continue until 30th September 2030. The total estimated contract value is £42,000,000, covering services classified under ambulance services.

This framework represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in patient transport, particularly those equipped to manage diverse patient mobility needs and wishing to expand their operations into multiple geographical areas. The procurement process is structured to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), encouraging them to participate and compete for the eight lots categorised by vehicle type and patient mobility level. This presents an excellent growth avenue for transportation companies aiming to enter the public healthcare space or expand their portfolio within NHS-funded services. Engaging early could provide a competitive advantage through insights gained during the preliminary market engagement sessions.
