## Summary

Leeds City Council has completed an open procurement for the framework of vehicle bodywork repairs, crucial for maintaining its extensive and diverse fleet of approximately 1,300 vehicles. These vehicles, vital for public services like waste collection and passenger transport, necessitate timely and proficient repair services. The procurement, classified under services in the public authority sub-central government sector, led to the contract now being in the award stage. This tender, covering the region of Leeds, UK, was open for submissions until 1 June 2026, with the contract period extending from 1 August 2026 to 30 June 2030, and an estimated value of £800,000. The procurement employed a framework agreement with a mini competition based on the lowest price submitted to select suppliers, ensuring cost-effective solutions.

This tender opportunity is significant for businesses specialising in vehicle body repair services, especially for firms capable of managing both light and heavy vehicles. The framework not only promises stable, long-term work but also exposes companies to potential future contracts through Leeds City Council. Large-scale businesses, such as Archbold Carshop Limited and Pelican Engineering Company, successfully won the awards, highlighting the competitive edge required to secure these contracts. The framework allows other potential suppliers to assess the competitive landscape and strategise for future procurement cycles, thus driving opportunities for growth and collaboration in the vehicle service industry.

## Notice

The Council operates a diverse, service critical fleet of around 1300 vehicles, incorporating a fleet of refuse collection vehicles, passenger transport vehicles, cars and vans amongst many others. This tender is designed to establish a framework for the repair of bodywork for these vehicles as and when required by the Council. Contractors appointed to the framework will be undertaking bodywork repairs to vehicles which are required to perform some of the most critical services on behalf of the Council. This includes, but is not limited to, the collection of household waste and the transportation of vulnerable customers. As a result, it is expected that any Contractor appointed will undertake work with the utmost care and skill whilst performing the Services required by the Contract Manager.
