## Summary

Newcastle City Council is undertaking a procurement process titled "Educational Psychology Assessments - PSR Direct Award Process C," positioned within the health services industry category and located in Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom. The procurement pertains to services with a formal intention to award a contract under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime (PSR), effective from 20 February 2026. The awarded contract is valued at £252,560 and will span six months, concluding on 19 August 2026. Notably, the procurement uses a direct award process that does not require prior publication of a call for competition and bypasses the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in educational psychology services, particularly those experienced in providing assessments and reports for children and young people's educational and health care needs. The process emphasises quality, innovation, integration, social value, and improving access while reducing health inequalities, suggesting a lucrative potential for providers meeting these criteria. Businesses that can offer superior service quality and value, alongside established relationships within the UK healthcare framework, are well-suited to compete for this contract, fostering their growth in the public sector. Furthermore, the direct award process facilitates streamlined engagement, offering a less competitive but efficient avenue for established providers.
