## Summary

The London Academy of Excellence has successfully awarded a contract for cleaning services valued at approximately £620,000. The contract, procured under the Competitive Flexible Procedure, was awarded to D Brice & Company Limited T/as D B Services on 15 June 2026. The tender process was conducted by the London Academy of Excellence, a well-regarded academic institution situated in London, known for its focus on social mobility and educational excellence. The contract spans three years—from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2029—with the possibility of extending for up to two additional years. The cleaning services, which apply to the Academy's new modern premises comprising eight floors, require a provider capable of delivering high-quality cleaning to meet the Academy's standards. The procurement was initiated with a Procurement Specific Questionnaire (PSQ) followed by an Invitation to Tender (ITT), aiming to balance price and quality with an evaluation weighting of 35% and 65% respectively.

This cleaning services contract represents a substantial opportunity for larger cleaning companies due to the scale and complexity of the Academy's new facilities. Businesses with a turnover exceeding £500,000, capable of providing comprehensive cleaning services, are well-suited to compete within this procurement framework. The need for innovation and partnership highlights an opportunity for providers to show how they can enhance service delivery within a dynamic educational environment. Furthermore, by aligning with the Academy’s aspiration towards the London Living Wage and requiring robust insurance cover, selected firms can leverage a commitment to fair labour practices as a competitive edge. This contract not only signifies a steady business opportunity but also a chance to contribute positively to a high-achieving educational institution.
