## Summary

The procurement process for the "WID-Easy Somerset Pilot" project involves the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust as the buyer, focusing on gynaecological hospital services in Taunton, Somerset, with a location classified under UKK23. This process is currently in the award stage, following the Provider Selection Regime under the Health Care Services Regulations 2023. The contract was awarded on 19 March 2025 and is set to run from March 2026 to April 2027. The project, with a lifetime value of £435,000, encompasses a complete end-to-end testing service, including kit supply, sample transport, and result reporting.

This tender presents growth opportunities for businesses specialising in innovative healthcare services and pathology. Ideal candidates would be suppliers capable of delivering large-scale, clinically validated testing services that integrate seamlessly with existing NHS pathways. The emphasis is on quality, innovation, integration, collaboration, service sustainability, and social value. The project focuses on the WID®-easy test, which facilitates early diagnosis through minimally invasive methods, thus promising substantial reductions in unnecessary procedures and improving patient experience. Such businesses would need accredited laboratory infrastructure and a proven track record in data governance and rapid service delivery.

## Notice

Provision of a full end to end testing service, including sampling kit supply, sample transport, and result reporting.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Provision of a full end to end testing service, including sampling kit supply, sample transport, and result reporting. The WID(r)-easy test is a new, minimally invasive test available in the UK that uses a simple vaginal swab to help detect or rule out the risk of endometrial (womb) cancer in women experiencing abnormal bleeding. It is a far less intrusive procedure, providing faster links to the appropriate clinical pathway. A service evaluation project would aim to test the initial adoption of the WID(r)-easy test at the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. The WID(r)-easy test will be the frontline triage methodology for all women referred to the Trust 45 years or older with AUB and determine the next step in the clinical workflow. This notice is an intention to award a contract under the most suitable provider process. The approximate lifetime value of the contract is PS435,000.00. This is a new service with a new provider. The dates between which the services are intended to be provided are between March 2026 and March 2027.

Options: 1 x 12 month extension
