## Summary

Peterborough City Council, in collaboration with Cambridgeshire County Council, is spearheading a procurement process under the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund. The tender, titled "Provision of Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Electric Vehicle ChargePoint's through the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Fund PROC128," falls under the service category, specifically targeting the electrical and transport equipment sectors. This active tender is within the procurement stage and follows an open procurement method. It involves a substantial funding allocation, with the total contract value amounting to £198 million. The focus will be on installing electric vehicle infrastructure in residential areas across the UKH11 and UKH12 regions (covering Peterborough and parts of Cambridgeshire). Key dates include a tender closing deadline on 15th June 2026, with award notifications expected by 3rd August 2026. The project aims to commence on 17th September 2026, expected to span over 15 years.

This procurement presents notable opportunities for businesses specialising in electrical installations, transport equipment, and associated services. Given the breadth and scale of this project, businesses that can provide comprehensive solutions in electric vehicle infrastructure, especially those with experience in servicing communal residential areas and on-street charging spaces, will be well-suited to compete. The procurement's open procedure invites participation from a diverse range of contractors, including SMEs. The focus on carbon reduction and environmental sustainability within the award criteria further underscores the potential for businesses focused on green technologies and innovative transport solutions to distinguish themselves in the bidding process.

## Notice

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA), alongside Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) and Peterborough City Council (PCC) have been allocated PS5,437,000 of public sector money from the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) fund. The aim is to secure additional private sector funding to enable the delivery of a high number of additional electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI) across the area, above and beyond what could be delivered with just LEVI funding alone. It is anticipated that the contract will focus on providing EVI in residential areas that have limited access to off-street parking. This may be a combination of delivery of infrastructure within communal residential car parks as well as on-street charging spaces. It is anticipated that most of the charging infrastructure will be standard (-7-22kW). Rapid charging and public car parks operated by the local authorities will not be included within the specification, however, there may be separate opportunities with each council in due course.
