## Summary

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the installation of Road Safety Monitoring Systems across Hertfordshire. The procurement is managed by the Seven Force Strategic Collaboration Procurement Team on behalf of the commissioner, with a focus on goods related to road safety equipment such as speed indicators, noise-measuring devices, and speed limiters. Interested suppliers are encouraged to engage in this preliminary market engagement by responding to a Request for Information (RFI) by 19 March 2026 at 12:00 noon. The planned contract period will run from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2029, providing a substantial timeframe for development and implementation.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialised in road safety technologies and monitoring systems. It is particularly favourable for SMEs and VCSEs due to suitability criteria. The contract will not be influenced by above-threshold procurement rules, allowing smaller entities to compete effectively. By engaging with the RFI, suppliers can help shape the future procurement strategy and secure a potential role in enhancing road safety across Hertfordshire. Businesses with innovative solutions in traffic and environmental monitoring are well-positioned to benefit from this initiative.
