## Summary

The Kingston and Richmond Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is planning a public procurement process titled "Antenatal Testing Maternity Screening DNA Reflex pathway," focusing on health services within the UKI63 region. The process is currently in the planning stage, with future notices expected by 1 April 2026. The tender involves a unique DNA reflex pathway service not covered under the National Screening Committee's recommended path. The procurement process aims to continue providing equitable and anxiety-reducing services for maternity screening, adhering to strict commissioning standards. Businesses interested in this tender should note the emphasis on health services and the specific focus on antenatal DNA testing.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly in maternal and foetal screening technologies. Companies with expertise in Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) and screening processes for genetic conditions such as Down’s Syndrome, Edwards' Syndrome, and Patau’s Syndrome may find significant business growth prospects here. The contract encourages the involvement of providers who can offer refined and accurate screening processes within the regulated framework of the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime, making it an ideal opportunity for businesses that can meet high-quality health screening standards and deliver timely results.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

At Kingston and Richmond Foundation Trust (KRFT), an alternative service is provided to the one that is recommended by the National Screening Committee and it is outside of the National pathway. Continuation with the DNA Reflex pathway was based upon our findings that our pathway is fair and equitable for all patients, it reduces anxiety caused by recalling patients back to discuss screen positive results from their first line of screening.

The foetal abnormality screening pathway for NHS patients is designed to detect any potential abnormalities or conditions in the developing baby during pregnancy. The screening process aims to provide early identification of conditions, allowing for informed decisions and, where possible, early interventions. The pathway includes specific tests at key stages of pregnancy.

Conditions the service screen for: Down's Syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edwards' Syndrome (Trisomy 18), Patau's Syndrome (Trisomy 13).

Service offers comprehensive NIPT screening for higher chance results. KRFT use the 'cut-off' >1:300. Any result greater than 1 in 300 is automatically processed if the patient has agreed to screening.

NIPT is a refined and accurate test at a detection rate of up to 99%. The screening team discuss results greater than 1 in 10 prior to sending the NIPT sample. Results are communicated in
