## Summary

Natural England, a central government public authority, is in the planning stages of a procurement process for the Nature Restoration Fund. The procurement aims to conduct supply market research specifically for the conservation of Great Crested Newts through Environmental Delivery Plans (EDPs) under this fund. A preliminary market research webinar is scheduled for 14 July 2026, between 11:00 and 12:30, to engage private and third-sector suppliers interested in the Great Crested Newt market. Businesses wanting to participate in this webinar must register by 24 June 2026. This initiative is structured to address environmental improvement works and related services, with an overarching focus on improving natural habitats across the UK.

The initiative presents substantial opportunities for businesses within the environmental services industry, particularly those specialising in environmental auditing, conservation strategies, and nature reserve services. Organisations such as habitat banks, not-for-profit entities, local authority ecological arms, and ecological consultancies are encouraged to participate. The project supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), making it an excellent opportunity for these entities to expand their reach and capacity within the environmental sector. By participating, businesses can not only contribute to ecological conservation efforts but also position themselves as key players in a government-backed environmental programme, paving the way for strategic growth within the industry.
