## Summary

The National Library of Scotland, in partnership with the National Records of Scotland, is currently at the tender stage of a procurement process for the supply and delivery of archival boxboard, classified under the hand-made paper or paperboard industry category. This contract, titled "Archival Boxboard," is part of a planned initiative to improve the housing of collection materials, ensuring protection against environmental factors such as temperature fluctuations, exposure to light and dust, and accidental damage. The procurement process is open and being conducted electronically with a submission deadline for bids by 4th May 2026 at 11:00 AM. The contract, with an estimated value of £480,000, is primarily based in Edinburgh and covers multiple delivery addresses within the region UKM75. The procurement will run for an initial two-year period with potential extensions based on performance and budget considerations.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the production and supply of archival materials, particularly those experienced in working with KasemakeCAD box-making and Global RBC70 die-cutting machines. The contract demands not only high-quality product specifications but also excellence in delivery and contract management. Organizations that demonstrate technical prowess, reliable delivery schedules, and sound business continuity plans are well-positioned to compete. This procurement also values sustainable practices, as demonstrated by Fair Work First policies, and requires that sample materials be provided as part of the tender evaluation. This opportunity is compelling for businesses looking to establish or expand their presence in the archival boxboard supply industry and collaborate with prestigious cultural institutions in Scotland.
