## Summary

The Borough Council of Calderdale is in the planning stage for a procurement process concerning the "Community Based Day Opportunities Service." This service focuses on providing flexible, non-residential daytime support for adults aged 18+ with various care needs including disabilities, autism, dementia, or older age. Located in the Halifax area within the United Kingdom, this initiative is classified under the Health and Social Work Services category. Interested organisations have until 5th March 2026 to participate by completing a market engagement questionnaire. An engagement event is scheduled for 13th March 2026, which will be held online via Microsoft Teams, offering interested parties the chance to help shape the service offering. The planning document was published on 24th February 2026, and future notices are anticipated by 10th July 2026. The planned contract value is £16,800,000, indicating a significant commitment to enhancing community services, with an anticipated contract period beginning 1st April 2027 through 31st March 2032, and options for renewal extending potentially until 2034.

This procurement process presents substantial opportunities for service providers specialising in health and social care, especially those with expertise in community-based and personalised service delivery. Organisations that focus on supporting adults with care needs and promoting individual independence will find this a fitting opportunity to contribute to the sector and expand their business footprint. Additionally, this tender is well-suited for SMEs and VCSEs, ensuring diverse participation and innovation in service delivery. Engaging in this process allows businesses to align with Calderdale Council’s ambitious vision of enhancing community services, making it an attractive prospect for those looking to make a meaningful impact in public health and social services.
