## Summary

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is seeking to develop a PEACEPLUS Local Community Action Plan titled "Our Historical Borough," focused on the regeneration and connectivity of heritage and historical sites around Antrim and Newtownabbey. The procurement is at the planning stage, with a market engagement scheduled to gather insights on potential approaches, risks, and technology applicable to the tourism and heritage industry. Interested parties can participate by submitting a questionnaire by 12 noon on 20 March 2026 via eSourcingNI. This initiative is funded by the Special EU Programmes Body and follows Northern Irish devolved regulations, aiming to engage the local community in historical preservation through services related to recreational, cultural, and sporting activities, as well as administrative services related to tourism affairs.

The tender offers substantial growth opportunities for businesses involved in IT consulting, software solutions, cultural, recreational services, and tourism promotion. The creation of new heritage hubs, trails, and an accompanying mobile app positions businesses to contribute significantly towards enhancing the local historical and tourism economy. This project may particularly appeal to organisations with expertise in mobile app development, cultural site management, and those capable of delivering administrative services linked to tourism. With a planned contract period from 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2028, interested businesses should prepare to leverage this opportunity to share innovative solutions that support the council’s objectives for heritage preservation and community engagement.
