## Summary

The North Bristol NHS Trust has completed the procurement process for the replacement of their Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Reporting System. The project was awarded under a direct procurement method due to technical requirements. The award date was 27th February 2026, with the contract scheduled to start on 1st April 2026 and conclude by 31st March 2027. The replacement system, Centricity™ Cardio Workflow, provided by GE MEDICAL SYSTEMS LIMITED, aims to improve cardiac device implantation records and patient workflow across multiple hospitals within the trust. The procurement falls under the category of medical hardware and software, with locations spanning multiple regions across the United Kingdom.

This procurement opens up opportunities, particularly for businesses specialising in high-tech medical software and support services due to its focus on sophisticated medical reporting systems. Companies with competitive offerings similar to the Centricity™ Cardio Workflow system could potentially explore future collaboration with healthcare institutions requiring advanced digital solutions for patient data management. Large-scale suppliers who can seamlessly integrate existing infrastructures with new technology would be well-positioned for success. Furthermore, technical support services offered by Philips Electronics UK Limited for data retrieval demonstrate the demand for specialised exit planning expertise in healthcare IT systems.

## Notice

The Cath Lab reporting system currently in place at NBT is currently not fit for purpose as it doesn't provide a central digital register of cardiac device implantations and follow-up requirements; it has limited and manual reporting and data capabilities; it is only available on certain computers, with no web-browser version, limiting workflows in the Control Room; and finally, it offers no oversight of patients, even though many cardiology patient pathways span both hospitals.

### Procurement Information

We would like to implement Centricity(tm) Cardio Workflow (CCW), a GE HealthCare (GE) provided product which is currently in use at the BHI, Weston General, and the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children which will be going to be a merger with North Bristol NHS Trust. Most importantly, CCW will be set up within the existing UHBW system architecture, enabling oversight of cardiology patient information across the BHI and Southmead. Due to the above technical reason single tender action has been done. Besides, for Philips data retrieval as this can only be done by Philips who is the incumbent supplier, so no competition existed in the market.
