## Summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is currently in the planning stage of a tender process for the provision and operation of a regular car boot sale at Burry Port Harbour. The Council, acting as the buyer, seeks to gather feedback from the market regarding operational requirements and other considerations. This preliminary engagement process is underway and includes a milestone for market feedback due by 27 March 2026. Businesses and community-led organisations interested in providing insights on various aspects, such as suggested operating times and infrastructure requirements, are invited to reach out via email. The tender, although yet to be officially launched, falls under the services category with classifications including land and entertainment services, and aims to support local traders and micro businesses while enhancing the community experience.

This upcoming tender represents an opportunity for businesses specialising in event management, community organisation, and entertainment services to tap into the local market by potentially running a recurring event within the Burry Port Harbour area. By contributing to a well-managed car boot sale, businesses can gain visibility, explore new revenue mechanisms, and foster community engagement. The tender is particularly suited to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) given the focus on supporting casual sellers and local traders. With the Council gathering insights for a potentially thriving event, businesses capable of offering innovative operational solutions and keen on creating positive community impacts will benefit from participating in the engagement process and preparing for possible future procurement opportunities.
