The Department for Transport is issuing a tender under the "Provision of C++ Programmer" title, focusing on technical services within the central government industry category. The procurement process currently is at the 'Tender' stage and is open for submissions until 27th March 2026, with enquiries closing on 20th March 2026. This involves supplying a C++ programmer to work on the National Aviation Passenger Allocation Model in the UK, specifically at London's Great Minster House. The procurement method being utilised is an open competition below threshold, with a non-committal budget of £120,000 for a three-year contract period starting from 27th April 2026.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in programming services and technical services, particularly those proficient in Microsoft .NET and C++ environments. Given the scope of work involving software development support and advanced mathematical modelling, companies that have expertise in transport modelling and analytics are well-positioned to compete effectively. The tender's structure allows for involvement alongside economists and modellers in the field, fostering collaboration and potential growth in knowledge and revenue for participating businesses. With the bid evaluating on criteria that include technical capability, social value, and commercial aspects, businesses with strong credentials in these areas stand to benefit substantially from this engagement.
