## Summary

Warwickshire County Council has completed a procurement process for the acquisition of a fire alarm system tailored to the unique conditions of a waste management environment at the Lower House Farm Waste Transfer Station. The award was made to Blazequel Ltd, with the contract active from 12th January 2026 to 5th January 2027, extendable up to 2031. Positioned in Warwick, UK, the procurement process followed a limited method below the financial threshold and focused on the goods and services necessary for early fire-detection systems, fully compliant with British Standard 5839. This contract aims to ensure safety and operational continuity in challenging environmental conditions such as dust and moisture exposure. While the tender process is complete, further options include ongoing system maintenance through Blazequel Ltd.

This procurement offers substantial opportunities for growth within the fire safety industry, particularly for enterprises with expertise in designing and maintaining systems amidst environmental challenges. Businesses versed in waste management operations and meeting rigorous safety standards may find engaging in similar tenders beneficial. Blazequel Ltd, a small to medium enterprise with profound knowledge in this niche, exemplifies the type of organisation well-suited to thrive through such specialised contract opportunities, underpinning the potential for growth in targeted procurement aimed at enhancing infrastructure safety.

## Notice

The Council was looking to replace the existing fire alarm system at Lower House Farm Waste Transfer Station with an automatic fire detection and alarm system that fully complies with all of the standards listed within the contract documentation. The system must be designed for continuous operation in a waste management environment, including exposure to dust, vibration, moisture, temperature and vermin. Early warning/notification of a fire will support safe evacuation and increase the likelihood that the fire service can prevent significant fire damage to the property. The Council seeked a supplier who has experience of working in the waste management industry to design, install, commission and maintain the new system in accordance with all standards stated within the contract documentation. The system must: * Ensure early fire detection and notification. * Be tailored to the operational and environmental conditions of the site. * Be designed, installed, commissioned and maintained in accordance with British Standard 5839 or equivalent. * Have a warranty period of 12 months as a minimum. * Be installed without disrupting site operations, with works carried out outside of operating hours stated in Table 1 below or in close coordination with the Council so as not to disrupt the operation of the facility.
