## Summary

The procurement process led by NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board is focused on providing specialist wheelchair services for adults and children in Milton Keynes, under the industry category of health services. The contract lasts for two years, from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2028, with an estimated value of £1,655,862. This is an intention-to-award notice under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime 2023, with a standstill period currently in effect. Interested parties must submit representations by the 25th of March, 2026. Notably, this procurement uses a limited procedure, where the contract is intended to be directly awarded to an existing provider following direct award process C, as it falls outside the scope of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This tender is a valuable opportunity for businesses specialising in healthcare equipment, particularly those with expertise in mobility solutions and wheelchair services. Companies capable of providing comprehensive wheelchair services, including equipment modification, repair and maintenance, have the potential to benefit greatly. AJM Healthcare appears to be the intended awardee, reflecting opportunities for SMEs with proven capability to meet existing and future service standards. Businesses adept at compliantly navigating regulatory frameworks like PSR may find this procurement conducive to establishing robust partnerships and bolstering their reputation within the healthcare sector.
