## Summary

The procurement process for community-based elective care services in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland has been led by NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (ICB). This contract, valued at £13.5 million, focuses on health and social work services and encompasses integrated referral management, diagnostics, and elective care within community settings. The contract, delivered under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, with a direct award process, spans from 1st April 2026 to 30th March 2027. The procurement highlights strong commitments to patient satisfaction and local healthcare improvement, with services delivered as close to home as possible, supporting the region's health care needs. The process was closed with a confirmation of contract award without applying the Procurement Act 2023.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses in the healthcare services sector, particularly those capable of delivering integrated services and collaborating closely with community stakeholders. Companies with expertise in health and social work services, possessing innovative capabilities in reducing health inequalities, and ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards are well-suited to compete. Given the specific criteria focusing on quality, value, and integration, small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and community interest companies with a strong local presence or those capable of establishing partnerships in the East Midlands region might find this tender beneficial for business growth. The procurement doesn't demand prior publication, potentially favouring existing regional providers who meet or exceed national performance standards.
