## Summary

NHS England, based in London, has completed the procurement process for the provision of a Cystic Fibrosis Registry, awarded on 9th March 2026. The procurement falls under the services category, specifically database services (CPV code: 72320000), and was executed through a limited procurement method due to protection of exclusive rights. The contract, valued at £131,793.5, has been active since the award date and involves the collection of data for Authority Specialised Commissioning Hub and ad hoc reports. This initiative was carried out without prior publication due to the specialised nature of the services required, centralised in the Yorkshire and The Humber (region: UKE). NHS England coordinated the tender process, which adheres to the legal basis of CELEX Directive 32014L0024.

With NHS England as the buyer, the opportunity was tailored towards entities with expertise in database services, presenting growth possibilities for businesses specialising in healthcare data management and compliance with data protection legislation. The contract was awarded to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a specialised organisation well-versed in managing registry services, indicating the preference for a provider with a deep understanding of cystic fibrosis and associated data needs. Although the bidding statistics noted only one electronic bid, potential future opportunities could invite more competition from SMEs and other entities keen to contribute to healthcare service optimisation and ethical data handling. The award reflects an ongoing collaboration required for audit and service evaluation purposes, preparing a solid foundation for further research collaborations subject to approval by the Registry Research Committee. Businesses focusing on healthcare technology and innovative data solutions may find future tenders in this field highly beneficial.
