## Summary

NHS England has awarded a contract for the Diagnosis Connect Service, a pilot initiative aimed at enabling patients to self-manage their conditions, thereby alleviating pressure on NHS resources. This procurement, under the direct award method, engages the charitable sector to improve diagnosis experience for long-term conditions within primary care, providing supplementary support and a quality assurance framework. Based in London, the contract, awarded on 26th March 2026 and active till 31st March 2028, falls under the services category, specifically miscellaneous health services. The buying organisation is NHS England, located at Wellington House, London, with Maxine Elstob as the contact person. The procurement is classified under public authority central government and the total contract value exceeds the usual thresholds, reflecting a significant investment in the healthcare sector.

This contract presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those capable of developing innovative solutions and collaborating with charities. Given the pilot's focus on enhancing diagnostic processes and improving patient care experiences, enterprises with expertise in quality assurance, patient support systems, and evaluation methods are well-positioned to benefit from this venture. Additionally, organisations that offer digital readiness and patient engagement technologies may find growth prospects here, as the initiative seeks to leverage digital resources to ensure service availability and responsiveness. Large-scale businesses experienced in partnerships with public institutions and those capable of meeting high standards and metrics for delivery, safeguarding, and governance will be particularly suited to compete successfully for similar tenders in the future.
