## Summary

Transport for London (TfL) is currently in the tender stage for the heavy overhaul of London Underground Switch Tilter (LUST) wagons and associated lifting accessories. This procurement process, titled "Engineering Vehicles (EV) - Heavy Overhaul of London Underground Switch Tilter (LUST) Wagons," aims to appoint a single supplier to ensure the safety, compliance, and optimal functionality of critical infrastructure. The procurement method employed is the open procedure with a competitive flexible process under the Procurement Act 2023. The tender is planned to be executed in London, with submissions closing on 16th July 2026. The focus of this project lies within the 'Railway and tramway locomotives and rolling stock and associated parts' and 'Repair and maintenance services of rolling stock' industry categories, with an estimated contract value of £990,000 (excluding VAT). Potential suppliers must hold relevant RISQS accreditation by the tender submission deadline to qualify.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in rolling stock maintenance, hydraulic systems, and lifting equipment overhaul. Suppliers with robust experience in these areas stand to benefit by demonstrating their capability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver efficiently aligned with programme constraints. Businesses adept in technical, programme, quality, HSQE (health, safety, quality, environment), and commercial proposal development will find this tender particularly lucrative. The requirement for RISQS accreditation aligns perfectly with companies already thriving in the UK rail supply chain, offering them a chance to strengthen their portfolio through establishing a significant partnership with TfL in London's thriving transportation sector.
