## Summary

The procurement process for the NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board is focused on the provision of a Primary Care GPwER Dermatology Service, specifically under the category of “Medical practice services.” The contract aims to deliver high-quality, local dermatological care to patients registered with GP practices within the northern region of the county. This process has reached the award stage, with a legally binding contract being formalised on 1st April 2026, for an initial three-year period, potentially extendable by two additional years. The procurement was conducted under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, specifically using a direct award process without a prior call for competition, illustrating a limited procurement method. The principal location of service delivery is within the UKF11 region.

This contract presents substantial opportunities for growth for businesses specialising in medical practice services, particularly those offering dermatology services. As the service is poised to cater to specific skin conditions by General Practitioners with Extended Roles (GPwERs), businesses with expertise in healthcare innovation, integration, and service sustainability could thrive. The focus on quality, social value, and reducing health inequalities means that organisations demonstrating strengths in these areas are well-placed to benefit from future collaborations with the NHS Derby and Derbyshire ICB. The contract value of £897,552 underscores the financial viability and potential for sustainable business growth through engagement in this public procurement opportunity.
