This service is intended to specifically target and support individuals with a history of drug and alcohol misuse during their recovery, furthering the objectives of Substance Use Commissioners to improve the rate of successful recovery from drug and alcohol use for people in structured treatment, reduce the rate of unplanned discharge from treatment for people with a housing related need, improve access to, and sustainment of, suitable accommodation for people engaging in structured drug treatment, reduce the scale of unmet housing need for people in structured drug and alcohol treatment, and build the evidence base on the housing related need for people dependent on drugs and alcohol and the most effective interventions. The service is to be designed for 18 years plus which supports those with a drug and/ or alcohol need to ensure they have safe, secure, and suitable accommodation. It shall: 1. Support those on the Housing Register who state they have a drug and alcohol need with housing and holistic support and establish if further support is required. 2. Provide intensive support to a cohort of individuals within temporary accommodation as identified through PCC housing services.
