## Summary

The NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract for domiciliary dental services in Hertfordshire for the period 2026-2028. This service provides dental care outside conventional clinic settings, targeting individuals unable to access traditional dental services due to various conditions. The procurement process, mainly focused on services, was executed under the Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023 using a direct award process C, which bypasses the typical call for competition. The contract was officially awarded on 19 March 2026, and it is set to commence from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028, with a total contract value of £830,946. The services will be delivered in the UKH23 region, primarily by Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, ensuring continuity of care with no changes to the existing contract provisions.

This tender presents significant opportunities for organisations specialising in health care services, particularly those adept in delivering in-home care solutions to patients with mobility constraints or complex medical needs. Companies experienced in providing high-quality, community-based healthcare services could leverage this opportunity to expand their footprint in the health sector. As the procurement method was limited and relied on direct awards, those already established within the regional healthcare network or possessing similar service delivery capabilities would be well-suited to compete in similar future opportunities.
