## Summary

The procurement process for the "Contract for Swansea Bay PR Campaign 2026/27" has been successfully completed by the City & County of Swansea, under the buyer ID "GB-PPON-PYYD-8699-BJGD". This process was conducted as an open competition, falling below the threshold, and aimed at promoting tourism in Swansea Bay through destination marketing. The initiative primarily focuses on enhancing the area's appeal as a destination for cultural experiences and live entertainment, specifically as it prepares to host the British Art Show 10 in February 2027. The awarded contract commenced on 7 May 2026 and will terminate on 31 March 2027, with an available budget of £30,000. Key elements include market research and advertising materials, indicative of the recreational and cultural services industry in the UKL18 region.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses in the marketing, cultural, and media sectors, particularly those with expertise in strategic campaign planning targeting cultural tourism. The successful bidder, Hopscotch Network UK, demonstrates the potential for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to secure such contracts, especially those experienced in collaborating with influencers and media platforms interested in arts and cultural events. Aligning with the strategic goals of Swansea Council's Tourism Team, businesses that can showcase previous successful campaign management and the ability to meet set targets are positioned well to benefit from similar future opportunities in public procurement contracts.

## Notice

'Visit Swansea Bay' is the brand name given to the destination marketing activity of the Tourism Team in Swansea Council (City & County of Swansea). We are the official visitor information providers for Swansea Bay (Swansea, Mumbles, Gower Peninsula and Rural Swansea). We provide information via visitswanseabay.com and also manage campaigns to attract visitors to the area. We are an income generating team offering marketing packages, which local tourism businesses can buy into. There are two key strands to this year's campaign as outlined below. The 2026/27 campaign will continue to promote Swansea Bay as a visitor's 'Happy Place' and also linking in with Visit Wales' 'Hwyl' Campaign. This campaign will continue to exclusively feature VSB Partners, which can all be found on our website. Visit Swansea Bay's Campaign videos can be viewed here. A new Cultural Tourism Campaign which initially launched in 2024 aims to promote the area as a vibrant destination for cultural experiences and live entertainment. As Swansea will be host to the British Art Show 10 (BAS10) in February 2027, culture remains a key strand the campaign and securing cultural related coverage/visits should continue to be a prominent component of this contract. * This includes, but is not limited to, live music, art, theatre and comedy. * This is a prime driver for this contract as we want to engage with a variety of media platforms and influencers with an interest in arts, music events and culture. Bidders are expected to review previous and current campaign activity on visitswanseabay.com and our accompanying social media platforms (@visitswanseabay) before making their submission. The client will expect the successful bidder to set and achieve quarterly targets as the contract progresses to ensure an equal spread of coverage across the contract period. This will be in line with the invoice schedule. Please note that there is a maximum budget of PS30,000 available for this contract. Additional hosting fees for visits (meals, accommodation etc) are not included in this price - the Client will cover these costs separately.
