## Summary

The public procurement process for the "Appropriate Adult Service" was initiated by Hampshire County Council in collaboration with Southampton City Council, Portsmouth City Council, Isle of Wight Council, and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and Isle of Wight. The procurement aims to establish contracts with a single provider for guidance services across Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight. The project, identified under tender ID CS27242, falls under the services category with a procurement method of open procedure. The tender was active and involved multiple stages, from initial planning in March 2026 through to the award period concluding by the end of May 2026. The service is set to start on 1st July 2026, with a projected value grossing over £2.9 million. Key locations include various police stations and council offices throughout the region.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in social services to expand their portfolio, particularly those with experience in providing Appropriate Adult services for both children and vulnerable adults. The detailed requirements stress the importance of compliance with legal standards and the ability to handle a significant workload, suggesting that larger organisations or those with scalable operations may be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, businesses with a strong footing in safeguarding, trauma-informed approaches, and extensive mobilisation plans will likely find the tender's expectations align with their existing strengths, paving the way for substantial business growth in the region.
