## Summary

The London Borough of Newham is conducting a planning phase for a public procurement process titled "Temporary Accommodation Occupancy Checks," aimed at delivering vital services across various boroughs. Scheduled to start on 29th April 2026, this initiative seeks to employ suppliers to conduct unannounced occupancy checks and case reviews for approximately 7,900 households located in Newham and neighbouring regions. Currently at the planning stage, interested parties are invited to express interest by 22nd April 2026. The procurement, categorised under services, addresses market research as well as social work-related services, with a total project value of £99,000. The locale for this procurement specifically covers the United Kingdom, particularly focusing on Newham, East London boroughs, other London areas, and several locations outside London, such as Essex and Kent.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in occupancy verification, housing audits, or similar fieldwork, particularly those with robust safeguarding and data protection policies. With a focus on social work services, successful bidders will demonstrate significant operational capacity to manage the scale and geographical spread of the project. Companies with enhanced DBS checks, proven experience, and adequate insurance coverage will find this contract suitable to expand their footprint. The project's need for interpretation services further opens doors for vendors serving diverse populations. Suppliers will engage in tasks ranging from occupancy checks to support needs assessments, offering potential areas for specialisation and expertise development.
