## Summary

In March 2026, the Defence Equipment and Support organisation, a division of the UK central government, awarded a contract to TagEvac Limited for the provision of training and maintenance services related to emergency evacuation procedures at the MOD Abbey Wood site in Bristol. The procurement process was direct, bypassing competition due to its below-threshold status. The contract, valued at £52,321.97 gross for three years, began on 2 March 2026 and will end on 30 May 2028. This procurement falls within the industry categories of safety training and health services, focusing specifically on the requirements for updating zone plans and the provision of training licenses to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

This contract presents a lucrative opportunity for businesses specialising in safety equipment and training services, particularly those providing bespoke updates to evacuation systems. SMEs like TagEvac Limited exemplify the potential for growth within the public sector by securing contracts to supply and maintain essential safety systems at government sites. Companies equipped to offer tailored training programming, on-site maintenance visits, and the rapid replacement of evacuation tags are well-suited to compete in similar procurement processes, potentially expanding their clientele and market presence through government contracts.
