## Summary

The Somerset Local Pharmacy First Service, overseen by the NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board in Yeovil, United Kingdom, involves health services classified under CPV code 85100000. The contract, commencing on 1st April 2026 for a duration of 12 months until 31st March 2027, includes an option to extend for up to another year. The procurement process is currently in the award stage following the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) under the Health Care Services Regulations 2023. While the contract has not yet been formally awarded, the notice marks the beginning of the standstill period, with representations from providers due by 9th April 2026. This limited procurement method was chosen due to the assurance that the existing provider is satisfactorily fulfilling the original contract and will continue to meet the needs of the Somerset population.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses in the healthcare industry, particularly those specialising in community health services. Companies with a strong focus on quality, integration, and value, and that are adept at improving access and reducing health inequalities, will find this contract significant for business growth. Given the contract's emphasis on social value and collaboration, businesses that can provide innovative health services within local pharmacies in Somerset are well-positioned to compete, capitalising on reduced GP appointments and enhanced service sustainability. Avon Healthcare Services Ltd, a large enterprise based in Bristol, is currently active as the supplier, setting a precedent for other qualified providers to consider entering this market space.
