## Summary

Glasgow City Council is inviting bids for a framework contract concerning the inspection, maintenance, and repair of physical education equipment and outdoor play areas across its educational facilities, including gymnasiums, playgrounds, and sports halls, as well as community gyms. This procurement, classified under CPV code 50870000 for repair and maintenance services of playground equipment, is in the tender stage and is being conducted using an open procedure, with the tender period ending on 27th April 2026 at noon. Bidders must comply with financial and technical criteria, including insurance and past experience in similar services. Valued at £360,000 GBP, the framework agreement is set to extend over a period of four years, with the expectation that a sole supplier will fulfil all elements of the contract. Opportunities for economic operators include community benefits and compliance with prompt payment policies within the supply chain.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in repair and maintenance services, particularly those familiar with educational and community recreation settings. Given the focus on comprehensive safety inspections and ongoing equipment maintenance, firms with strong health and safety certifications and a proven track record in such services are well-suited to compete. With the council's emphasis on sustainability, experience in implementing eco-friendly practices will be advantageous. The open procedure allows a wide range of businesses to participate, making it an excellent opportunity for local enterprises looking to expand their portfolio in public sector contracts. Attention to fair work practices and an understanding of community benefits can further bolster a bidder's proposal.
