## Summary

The Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has announced a contract award under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR), specifically for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Tier 4 in collaboration with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. This procurement, centred around specialised health services, caters to the adolescent population requiring inpatient services, including specialised eating disorder treatments, in Cheshire and Merseyside. The formal award was issued on 11 April 2026, following a direct award process C, and the service provision is scheduled from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. The procurement, valued at approximately £250,000, is conducted without prior publication of a call for competition, emphasising quality, innovation, and service sustainability, with activities remunerated on a cost per case basis.

This procurement process presents significant business growth potential for health service providers, especially those specialising in adolescent mental health and eating disorder treatments. Opportunities arise for businesses with capabilities in therapeutic, medical, and social interventions, particularly those adept in integrating collaborative care models for nasogastric tube feeding and other conditions requiring a general adolescent unit environment. The procurement's focus on quality and innovation alongside service sustainability suggests that providers emphasising these elements will be well-positioned. Organisations that can offer value-driven services within the specified framework could substantially benefit, given the emphasis on tailored care packages and non-guaranteed activity levels incentivised by actual demand-driven payment structures.
