## Summary

Northern Trains Ltd, a public authority central government entity located in York, United Kingdom, has recently completed the award stage of a procurement process titled "Allerton OHLE Isolations". This contract involves the design and construction of overhead line equipment (OHLE) isolations at the Allerton Train Care Centre. The procurement process, which began as a tender, was carried out under a limited competition method, specifically a "Below threshold - limited competition" regime targeted at the utilities sector. The contract was signed on 25 March 2026, and the active contract runs from 26 March 2026 until 2 September 2026, with a potential extension to 2 November 2026. The project focuses on construction, overhead line construction, and electrical installation works, classified under CPV codes 45000000, 45232210, and 45310000, respectively.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses in the construction and rail industry, especially those specialising in electrical installations and overhead line systems. Large-scale enterprises like Aureos Rail Ltd, which was awarded the contract, are well-positioned to benefit due to the project's scope and complexity. The successful bidder will engage in significant infrastructural development within the rail network, which may lead to further collaboration with public transport authorities and additional projects requiring similar expertise. The opportunity to design and implement innovative solutions within specified Network Rail Standards enhances a company's portfolio, fostering potential long-term relationships with prominent railway operators.
