## Summary

Newcastle City Council is currently in the planning stage for the procurement of the Integrated 0-19 Healthy Child Programme, intended to commence from 1 April 2027. This substantial procurement process involves the provision of health services such as Health Visiting, School Nurses, Infant Feeding support, Breast Feeding Peer Support, and Child Vision screening. Located in Newcastle Upon Tyne, this project falls under the health services industry category and reflects the Council's statutory public health responsibilities. A market engagement event is scheduled for 20 April 2026 at Newcastle Civic Centre to discuss the proposed service models and gather input from potential partners. This exercise precedes the formal tendering process, which will utilise a PSR Competitive Process for awarding the contract, covering the contract period from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2030.

This procurement process presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health services to engage with Newcastle City Council in delivering critical community health programmes. Companies with expertise in early years and adolescent health support, including infant and maternal health programmes, are well-suited to compete. Participation in the market engagement event allows businesses to understand the Council’s expectations and requirements, offering a platform to influence future service models. This proactive approach by the Council demonstrates a commitment to collaborative commissioning, enhancing business growth potential and service optimisation in this sector.
