## Summary

The Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IDeA) has initiated an open tender for a consultancy service to conduct an operational review of the Long-Term Care and Support Service for Medway Council. This procurement, scheduled for completion between 7 May 2026 and 24 July 2026, focuses on the social services sector, specifically involving social work and related services. Located in Medway, UK, the review aims to address and mitigate the backlog in service reviews, improve workforce deployment, and reduce statutory risks by providing strategic recommendations. The deadline for tender submission is 29 April 2026, following the enquiry period which closes on 21 April 2026. The procurement process is below the financial threshold, valued at £19,680 GBP, with details accessible through the Panacea procurement portal.

This tender creates significant opportunities for businesses with expertise in adult social care, particularly those familiar with regulatory frameworks and adept at causal analysis and data-driven reviews. Organisations that have experience working alongside local government bodies to enhance service delivery and compliance stand to benefit. The contract is particularly suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that can demonstrate a robust methodology for operational assessments and delivering actionable insights to public sector entities. By engaging in this project, businesses can position themselves as key contributors to improving public services, thereby expanding their presence and impact within the public sector landscape.
