## Summary

The Co-op Academies Trust, one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in the north of England, has awarded a contract for the provision of trust-wide school uniforms. The contracting process involved a competitive flexible procedure across three stages, with Banner Ltd being selected as the single high-volume supplier. The process was completed with the contract award stage on 2nd July 2026. The procurement sought to appoint a uniform partner capable of delivering operational excellence and aligning with the Trust's social value ambitions. The contract, identified by COOP 1/26, covers the supply of occupational clothing, special workwear, and accessories, set to commence on 1st September 2026 and potentially extendable up to 2031. Situated in Manchester, the Trust's procurement supports its 39 academies ranging from primary schools to a college with a broad age group of students.

This contracting opportunity opens up significant avenues for business growth, particularly for large-scale suppliers in the garment and uniform industry who can meet the demands of high-volume production and delivery. The competitive procurement method enabled participation from various businesses, although ultimately nine bids were considered at the final stage. Businesses capable of balancing quality, price, and social impact stand out in competitive processes such as this. Suppliers providing occupational clothing, workwear, and accessories, who pursue operational excellence and have a demonstrable social commitment, would align well with the Co-op Academies Trust's values and operational requirements. The contract allows flexibility and adaptation, including the addition of new uniform items as the Trust evolves, presenting ongoing business opportunities.
