## Summary

This initiative falls under the main procurement category of services and takes place in the UKJ31 region, with the council inviting expressions of interest by email. The contract is expected to be published for expressions of interest for 14 days as per the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulation 2023, with the awarding anticipated on 1st July 2026 and commencement on 1st September 2026. The contract, valued at £147,000, will last for two years with a potential extension of twelve months. This procurement is tailored for ensuring health equity for children through targeted health activities at schools and early years settings.

The "Supervised Toothbrushing Programme" offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those experienced in educational settings and children’s health. Companies that can innovate in flexible service delivery, accommodate special educational needs and adapt to varying levels of literacy and language proficiency will be well-positioned to compete effectively. The programme supports the creation of better health outcomes by reducing children's tooth decay, thus offering potential growth for businesses that can deliver impact in public health sectors and contribute positively to community well-being in Portsmouth.
