## Summary

The procurement process for the "Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Crisis Café" contract has been completed under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime, as articulated in the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The contract was awarded without prior publication due to the urgent need for crisis drop-in support in the Scarborough area to de-escalate patient presentation. Managed by the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, this service aims to provide an essential point of contact and support in crisis situations for the community. The contract, commencing on 1st April 2026, is a 12-month engagement valued at £155,000, addressing the main procurement category of community health services.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those offering crisis support solutions, to establish their presence and expand their service offerings in the Yorkshire region. Ideal candidates for this contract are those with capabilities to deliver comprehensive support services aligned with NHS objectives, such as Scarborough Survivors, which has been contracted for this initiative. SMEs with a focus on community health services are well-positioned to benefit from such contracts, as they foster partnerships with large public health organisations, leading to potential long-term collaborations beyond the initial contract term.
