## Summary

The Board of Trustees of the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, located in London, United Kingdom, has conducted a procurement process titled "RBGKEW1477 - Maintenance of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer." This procurement involves the maintenance of a 400 MHz NMR system and falls within the goods category, specifically spectrometers. The process has reached the awarding stage, with Bruker UK identified as the supplier. The contract, valued at £89,252, was signed on 28 January 2026 and is set to run from 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2030. Covering regions such as UKI, the procurement follows a limited method, specifically a direct award to the highest-ranked supplier on the LUPC Framework, bypassing an open call for competition.

The tender provides substantial opportunities for companies specializing in repair and maintenance services, particularly those well-versed in handling advanced laboratory equipment like nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers. Businesses adept in providing remote support, liquid helium refills, and repair services without extensive tendering can benefit from such contracts. Large-scale suppliers with expertise in high-value laboratory equipment maintenance can find considerable growth prospects by servicing renowned institutions such as RBG Kew and ensuring the reliable operation of cutting-edge scientific apparatuses over a lengthy contract term. This direct award process allows for a streamlined engagement, making it advantageous for ready-to-deliver suppliers like Bruker UK.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

RBG Kew is seeking a four-year procurement agreement to enable the servicing, support (including liquid helium fills) and repair costs of an existing 400 MHz NMR system to be purchased in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Within this procurement agreement, the present tender is for a four-year maintenance contract agreement to cover remote support, liquid helium refills of the magnet and quench recovery attempt and is inviting two options, one with and one without an annual preventative maintenance visit. The procurement agreement would allow any additional maintenance costs, such as repairs not covered by the service contract, to be purchased separately and as needed from Suppler without further tendering.
