## Summary

The procurement process, initiated by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, involves a tender for medical aid insurance services at the British Embassy Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Categorised under health insurance services, this contract is in the planning stage and is set to provide coverage to embassy staff and their dependents. Market engagement, due by 29th April 2026, aims to refine the procurement process with stakeholders. The anticipated contract period begins on 4th January 2027 and runs until 28th February 2029 with possible extensions until February 2030. The procurement value is estimated at £780,817.35, and future notices will be communicated by 25th May 2026.

This tender presents significant opportunities for companies specialising in health insurance, particularly those with experience in servicing regions like Kinshasa. The procurement encourages competition from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) capable of navigating medical insurance regulations, member servicing, data protection, and risk management. Firms with robust service models and a strategic approach towards renewals could benefit by establishing or expanding operations in the region. Compliance with local legal requirements and expertise in delivering competitive insurance schemes will give businesses a beneficial edge in this tender process.

## Notice

The Service Provider will be required to provide medical cover to members of staff and their dependents registered under the policy to an identified appropriate ceiling and premium per family.
