## Summary

Shropshire Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the management of Meole Brace Golf Course, located in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom. As part of the pre-market engagement exercise, organisations are invited to review the initial specifications and complete a preliminary engagement questionnaire by 15th May 2026. The Council seeks feedback on the potential management of golf-related services, emphasising the industry category of sporting services. The procurement method is exploratory pre-market engagement, focusing on market appetite and delivery models before any formal tender. Events related to this engagement include a scheduled milestone for initial specification review, inviting commentary on golf course management services.

The tender offers a lucrative opportunity for businesses specialising in golf shop operations, customer service, and golf professional services, including coaching and teaching programmes. With a gross amount of £394,000 available, businesses with expertise in sporting services and those dedicated to providing comprehensive golf course management can find significant growth opportunities. This engagement could be particularly beneficial for companies experienced in managing customer interfaces, green fee collection, and retail operations within a golfing environment. Suitable contenders are likely operators that can facilitate integration with the Council’s leisure management framework, ensuring seamless coordination with existing grounds maintenance operations. The adjustment of business models to engage with the leisure management contract, effective from 1st August 2027, presents further scope for expansion.
