## Summary

Staffordshire County Council is initiating a tender process under the title "IA3617 Communicator Guide," aimed at offering health and social work services primarily in Staffordshire. The procurement is at the tender stage and is classified under services, with an industry category focusing on enabling independence for persons with sight and hearing impairments. The procurement method is an open procedure, seeking to establish suppliers on a Light Touch Framework Agreement. Key dates include the tender period ending on 22 May 2026 and the anticipated contract start from 1 September 2026, continuing until 31 August 2031. The procurement is designed to support sensory-impaired persons and is expected to have a significant service value estimated at £2,753,405.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses in health and social care, particularly those specialising in services for sensory impairments. Companies with expertise in providing tailored support and training for Communicator Guides and in delivering community-based services will find this an attractive proposition. The framework approach allows for flexibility and potentially unlimited supplier involvement, offering room for growth and entry for businesses that can meet the quality criteria stipulated, such as service delivery models, workforce capabilities, and quality assurance. As the framework may re-open subject to capacity and demand, there is also potential for previously unsuccessful tenderers to participate if reviewed by the council. Businesses keen on accessing statutory duty services backed by consistent funding will benefit significantly from engaging in this procurement process.
