## Summary

The Northern Ireland Prison Service, in conjunction with the CPD - Supplies & Services Division, has issued an active tender titled "DOJ NIPS – Supply, Delivery and Disposal of Uniforms for Operational Staff" with a total estimated value of £2,136,000. This procurement falls within the goods category, particularly focused on clothing and accessories, with a specific emphasis on occupational and industrial uniforms. This tender, governed by UKPGA 2023/54, is located in Belfast, UK, and is currently at the tender update stage. Interested suppliers must submit electronically via eTendersNI with the expression of interest deadline extended to 26th May 2026, while enquiries can be made until 15th May 2026. The awarding process is set to be concluded by 5th August 2026, with contract commencement anticipated on 10th August 2026 for an initial two-year period, followed by the possibility of two further two-year extensions. The procurement method in use is a competitive flexible procedure, which includes multiple stages assessing both technical and qualitative criteria.

This tender presents considerable opportunities for businesses specializing in the production and supply of occupational clothing, protective gear, and accessories, as well as those skilled in secure disposal services. The requirements divided into six lots—general uniform, utility uniform, uniforms with emblems, accessories, waterproof clothing, and uniform disposal—create a diverse range of opportunities for various suppliers. Companies with a strong capability in supplying bulk uniform items with technical specificity, as well as those with expertise in waste management and sustainability practices, would be particularly well-suited to this tender. The structure allows suppliers to bid on multiple lots, provided they can demonstrate the capacity to deliver across the contracts, making it an attractive prospect for established suppliers seeking to expand their portfolio within the public sector.
