## Summary

Halton Borough Council, a sub-central government authority operating in Widnes, United Kingdom, is currently in the planning stage for a tender titled "Preliminary Market Engagement for Supply and Maintenance of HAVS Wearable Monitoring Equipment and Associated Analysis Tools." The industry category is services, specifically targeting IT services such as consulting, software development, and Internet support, and computer equipment and supplies. This procurement process is set to enhance the Council's capability to efficiently monitor Hand and Arm Vibration (HAV) among its staff using power tools. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in wearable technology, IT consulting, software development, and supply of computer equipment. Companies with capabilities in developing or supplying advanced HAV monitoring solutions or analysis tools that can integrate with wearable devices are well-suited to compete for this contract. Businesses from the tech sector can leverage their expertise to meet Halton Borough Council's need to transition from a manual monitoring system to a more reliable technology-driven solution. This procurement process opens avenues for business growth via collaboration, offering possibilities to expand into government contracts while implementing innovative technologies and solutions.

## Notice

Halton Borough Council is seeking to streamline and improve the monitoring of Hand and Arm Vibration for staff that use power tools on a regular basis. We are keen to determine what wearable technology is available and the associated analysis tools that can be utllised to provide performance monitoring reports. The Council currently use a manual system of recording hand and arm vibration, we do not currently monitor Full Body Vibration, but are considering this as part of our risk assessments. The current process does not include wearable technology, which has the potential to both over and under report usage and exposure, by relying on staff to manually record their "trigger time" at the end of the day. It relies on the manual generation of templates for staff to complete, which is time consuming.
