## Summary

The Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) has successfully advanced its procurement process with the award of a significant contract titled "Data Capability Migration." This initiative falls under the IT services category, encompassing consulting, software development, and support. Located in the UK, specifically within the UKD4 region, the project entails the migration of data from legacy platforms, involving the discovery, testing, and publication of rules and models. The procurement process is currently in the award and contract update stage as of April 2026, following an initial contract signing in September 2024. The contract, valued at £7,168,315 excluding VAT, commenced in September 2025 and is expected to conclude in March 2027. Further modifications under Regulation 72 PCR2015 have been applied, increasing the contract value by £700,000 to support continued migration efforts.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses with expertise in IT services, particularly those specialising in data migration and management. It is well-suited for technology companies that can offer innovative solutions and robust support to aid in complex data transformations. Small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), such as Scott Logic Ltd, which has been awarded the contract, can leverage this opportunity to expand their market presence and build capacities in collaboration with a major public entity like DWP. Additionally, firms can benefit from the award criteria focused on social value and technical quality, encouraging a competitive edge in delivering sustainable and effective solutions to meet critical departmental objectives.

The reason that 'award with no prior notice' was used here is because using Restricted Procedure Type required the PIN code of an F02 notice. As this was procured on a framework there was no F02 notice this option was chosen as a workaround to Atamis.
