## Summary

The North East London Integrated Care Board (NEL ICB) has coordinated the award of a contract to the East London NHS Foundation Trust for the provision of Community Health Services in Newham. This procurement falls under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and utilised a Direct Award Process A without prior publication of a call for competition. The contracting process, now in the award stage as of 28 April 2026, entails services in the Hospital and related services industry category. The contract, valued at £158,154,330 for three years with a possible extension to four years, extends from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2028 or 2029 with the extension. The contract was formally signed in December 2025 by the NEL Chief Finance Officer and the Interim Chief Executive, ensuring it spans across the UKI region.

This tender represents a significant business opportunity for organisations in the health sector, particularly those specialising in hospital and acute healthcare services. With the contract awarded directly to East London NHS Foundation Trust, other businesses might find partnership or subcontracting opportunities to support and enhance the delivery of community health services. Organisations capable of providing specialised or commissioner-requested services might align themselves strategically with the awarded supplier. This procurement is specifically suitable for large-scale entities with healthcare service delivery capacity and expertise, given the substantial contract value and specialised service requirements outlined in this award.
