## Summary

The Manchester City Council is in the final stages of awarding a contract under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The procurement pertains to a bespoke social prescribing programme titled "Junior PARS - Physical Activity on Referral Scheme", aimed at children prone to weight-related health issues. Falling under the services category, the programme is classified within community health services. The standstill period for the procurement commenced on 28th April 2026, with a deadline for representations by 8th May 2026. Notably, the procurement follows a limited method through direct award, without prior publication of a call for competition, and the procurement process is outside the scope of Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This tender presents significant prospects for businesses specialising in health service delivery or social prescribing models. Particularly, organisations skilled in designing and implementing structured physical activity and lifestyle improvement programmes for youth would find this opportunity conducive to expanding their service reach. The contract, valued at £178,358.33, is positioned within the Manchester region, offering local businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises akin to MoreLife (UK) Ltd, a strategic opportunity for growth in public sector healthcare initiatives. Success in this regime could bolster a provider’s reputation and engagement in future public health projects.
