## Summary

The University of Birmingham is conducting a preliminary engagement stage for the upcoming tender titled "Provision of Managed Internet Services for Student Accommodation." The procurement process, initiated through a Request for Information (RFI) on the University's E-Tendering Portal, aims to gather supplier insights and capabilities in delivering resilient Wi-Fi and network services suitable for high-density student accommodations. The RFI is scheduled for completion by 7 May 2026, with any clarification questions due by 5 May 2026. This is part of the University's strategic planning in Birmingham, United Kingdom, under the public authority sub-central government category, with potential contract start in September 2027.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in internet network services, network infrastructure, and computer network services. Companies with experience in internet and network services, particularly those adept in high-density residential environments, will find this opportunity attractive. Engaging in this informal market exercise could enhance business visibility and establish potential partnerships with the University for future competitive exercises. Despite the University's status as a Non Contracting Authority, participating suppliers will benefit from the insights gained and may be shortlisted for subsequent tender processes outside of the Procurement Act 2023.
