## Summary

The procurement process involves the NHS Central East Integrated Care Board intending to award a contract under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) for the provision of non-obstetric ultrasound diagnostics and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) services in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. This contract follows a direct award process and is due to commence from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, with an indicative annual value of £900,000. Key dates include the approval of the recommendation to award by the ICB Board on 16 January 2026 and the standstill period for provider representations ending on 13 May 2026. The procurement falls under the health services category and is conducted without prior publication due to its repetition of existing services.

The intention to award this contract presents growth opportunities for large healthcare providers specialising in diagnostic services. With NHS Central East Integrated Care Board as the contracting authority, businesses with experience in delivering health diagnostics, particularly ultrasound and DVT services, are poised to benefit. The streamlined procurement method and reduced competition—evident from a single bid—underscore the suitability for established providers familiar with regional healthcare operations. Companies already operating within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough or those seeking to expand their geographic footprint in the UK healthcare industry should consider leveraging such direct awards to solidify their presence and capabilities.
